Katelyn Reiss

I’m Katelyn Reiss, the owner and designer of The Bloom Co. I am a wedding florist located in the Kansas City area. I have a deep rooted passion for floral design that began in high school through FFA and influenced my studies as a college student. I pride myself on transparent communication and education throughout the planning process to help clients feel at ease with their choices!

My Family

Wife, mother and florist are the dearest titles I hold. I married my high school sweetheart, Fred, in August of 2019. Then in February 2021, we welcomed our first blessing, Freddy. He lights up our lives with his sweet smile, curly hair and avid love of cars. In March 2024, we welcomed our second beautiful blessing, Holland Hyacinth! She completes our family in a way we never believed possible with her sweet snuggles and emerging personality.

*Fun fact: We are Disney lovers through and through, so if we aren’t to be found in KC, we are probably at Disney World!

My Education

I’m a graduate from the University of Missouri with a degree in agriculture. I tailored my studies to plant science and floral design, contributing to my experience in the floral design industry. In addition to my studies, I worked as a student florist and teaching assistant for the universities floral design program. Through those opportunities, I began to develop a passion for floral design, specifically the wedding industry.

  • YES! I have studied floral design in the Netherlands (Holland). European design inspires me through grouping techniques, abundance and natural movement. I try to incorporate these techniques with my garden inspired style to create truly unique designs for every couple. (It impacted my love of floral design so much that I chose to name my daughter, Holland, after my experience there!)
